Anne lauds Khaleda’s role in women empowerment

Princess Anne of Britain has appreciated BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s role in women empowerment, particularly her role in progressing women education in Bangladesh, reports UNB.


The Princess made the remarks when Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia made a courtesy call on visiting Anne at the residence of the UK High Commissioner (HC) in Dhaka Thursday afternoon.

After the meeting BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury who attended the meeting told the news agency that Princess Anne especially mentioned progress achieved in women empowerment in Bangladesh.

Anne lauded the role of Khaleda Zia in enhancing women empowerment particularly in the field of education, he said.

The Princess also discussed micro-credit projects in Bangladesh saying those have made positive impact in benefiting women.
