Women’s Club Cup cricket

Azad Sporting Club scored a massive 88-run victory over Kalabagan Krira Chakra in their Women’s Club Cup Tournament at the Gulshan YouthClub Ground yesterday. Batting first Azad Sporting scored 203 for seven in their stipulated forty overs with valuable contribution from Rita Khatun (40), Sohely Sultana (38 not out) and Rehnuma Zaman (24). Kalabagan conceded as many as 45 extra runs, most of them wides.

In reply, Kalabagan folded for 115 in 40 overs as Sathira Jakir Jessy took four wickets for 14. Tulika Biswas fought a lone battle for Kalabagan with 41 runs.

In the other match, Mohammedan Sporting Club scored a comfortable 10-wicket victory over Dhaka Wanderers Club at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium.

After Ety Mondal’s five-for, Mohammedan walloped through to a small victory target of 38 in five overs without losing a wicket.
