Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) held its annual general meeting (AGM) in the city Saturday. BWCCI President Selima Ahmad presided over the meeting attended by its members from across the country. Selima Ahmad said the organisation has been working as a vibrant platform for women’s economic empowerment and development since its inception in 2001. The chamber is a renowned advocate for women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh at national and international levels, she said.
She also said the BWCCI participated in six international trade fairs, 25 advocacy meetings, six focus group discussions and organised 17 different trainings, 50 business counseling and six different workshops during the last year.
BWCCI Senior Vice President Sangita Ahmed, Vice President Selina Quader, among others, spoke on the occasion.
